Bandhavgarh Safari Itinerary

This 3-night safari itinerary allows travelers to explore different zones of the park while enjoying the tranquility of the jungle.
Your wildlife journey begins with arrival at Jabalpur airport or the nearby railway station at Umaria. From here, a scenic drive through rural Madhya Pradesh brings you to Bandhavgarh National Park, a journey that takes approximately 3–4 hours. Upon arrival at your jungle lodge, you will be welcomed with refreshing drinks and assisted with check-in. After settling into your comfortable accommodation, enjoy a leisurely lunch at the resort. In the evening, you may take a short nature walk around the lodge area or visit a nearby tribal village to experience the culture of the region. Later, gather for a wildlife briefing session conducted by the in-house naturalist who will introduce you to the park’s rich biodiversity, safari zones, and tips for tracking wildlife. Dinner will be served at the lodge, followed by an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the forest.
Your day begins early with tea or coffee before departing for your first jeep safari into Bandhavgarh National Park. As the sun rises over the forest, the jungle comes alive with calls of birds and animals. The morning safari explores one of the park’s famous zones, often the Tala zone, known for its high density of wildlife. With the guidance of an experienced driver and naturalist, you will track wildlife through dense forests and open grasslands. Besides the elusive Bengal Tiger, the park is home to several fascinating species including Indian Leopard, Sambar Deer, Chital, and the impressive Indian Gaur.
You may also pass the historic ruins of the ancient Bandhavgarh Fort, perched high on a hill and believed to be over 2,000 years old. After the safari, return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation. Enjoy lunch and some leisure time in the afternoon. Later in the day, head out again for an afternoon jeep safari into another zone such as Magadhi or Khitauli. As the temperature cools, wildlife often emerges from the forest cover to drink at waterholes, making it a great time for photography and wildlife sightings. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Another exciting day awaits with an early morning safari into the forest. Morning hours are among the best times to observe wildlife activity. The safari takes you deeper into the park’s diverse landscapes—rolling hills, grassy meadows, and thick sal forests. Listen for alarm calls from deer or langurs, which often signal the presence of a predator nearby. Besides tigers, you may encounter species such as the Sloth Bear, Golden Jackal, and numerous bird species including the Indian Paradise Flycatcher. Return to the lodge for breakfast and spend the afternoon at leisure. Guests can relax at the resort, enjoy birdwatching around the property, or take part in a guided nature walk. In the afternoon, embark on your final safari into the park or the surrounding buffer forest areas. This safari offers one last chance to witness the magic of the jungle and perhaps capture a memorable tiger sighting.
In the evening, return to the lodge for dinner. Many lodges organize a bonfire or storytelling session where naturalists share fascinating tales about the wildlife of Bandhavgarh. Overnight stay at the lodge.
On the final morning, enjoy a relaxed breakfast while soaking in the peaceful forest surroundings.
