Kaziranga Wildlife Safari Experience

Your journey begins with arrival at Guwahati, the gateway city to the wildlife reserves of Northeast India. From here, enjoy a scenic drive of approximately 4–5 hours through tea gardens and rural landscapes to reach Kaziranga National Park. Upon arrival, check in to your wildlife resort or lodge located near the park’s central safari entrance at Kohora Range. After settling in, enjoy lunch and take some time to relax. In the evening, you may explore a nearby Assamese village or visit the Kaziranga Orchid and Biodiversity Park to learn about the region’s rich flora and cultural traditions. Later, attend a briefing by a local naturalist who will introduce you to the park’s wildlife and safari procedures.

Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

The day begins early before sunrise for one of the most unique wildlife experiences in India—an elephant safari inside Kaziranga National Park. Riding atop a trained elephant through tall grasslands offers an excellent vantage point for spotting wildlife. This safari is especially famous for close encounters with the iconic Indian Rhinoceros. Other animals frequently seen include the large and powerful Asian Elephant, herds of Wild Water Buffalo, and graceful Swamp Deer. After the safari, return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation. In the afternoon, set out on a jeep safari exploring another range of the park, such as the Western Range (Bagori). This area offers excellent wildlife viewing and scenic grassland landscapes. Besides rhinos, Kaziranga is also home to the elusive Bengal Tiger, as well as numerous bird species including the elegant Greater Adjutant and the colourful Indian Roller. Begin another exciting day with an early morning jeep safari into the scenic Eastern Range (Agaratoli). This range is particularly popular among birdwatchers as it contains wetlands and riverine habitats that attract a wide variety of migratory birds. As your vehicle moves slowly through the grasslands and forest patches, keep watch for animals such as the Hog Deer, the shy Golden Jackal, and perhaps even the rare sight of a tiger moving through the tall grass. After the safari, return to the lodge for breakfast and spend the afternoon at leisure. Later in the day, enjoy another jeep safari or a guided nature excursion along the buffer areas of the park. This final exploration offers one more chance to observe Kaziranga’s extraordinary wildlife and natural beauty. In the evening, return to the lodge for dinner. Many lodges organize cultural performances showcasing traditional Assamese music and dance, providing a memorable end to your wildlife adventure.

On the final morning, enjoy breakfast while taking in the serene surroundings of the Kaziranga landscape. After check-out, drive back to Guwahati for your onward flight or train journey.
