Tadoba Safari Itinerary
Located in the eastern part of Maharashtra, Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is one of India’s premier tiger reserves and a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. The reserve is famous for its relatively high visibility of the majestic Bengal Tiger and its beautiful landscape of teak forests, bamboo thickets, lakes, and open meadows. This 3-night safari itinerary offers an immersive experience with multiple game drives to explore the rich biodiversity of the park.
Your journey begins with arrival at Nagpur, the nearest major airport and railway hub. From here, drive approximately 3–4 hours through the countryside to reach Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. Upon arrival at your jungle lodge near the park’s popular gates such as Moharli Gate or Kolara Gate, you will be welcomed and assisted with check-in. After lunch, the afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings of the lodge. In the evening, join a short nature walk around the property or attend a wildlife orientation session conducted by a resident naturalist. The briefing will introduce you to the reserve’s ecosystem, key wildlife species, and safari guidelines. Dinner will be served at the lodge followed by an overnight stay amidst the peaceful sounds of the forest.
Your day begins before sunrise with tea or coffee before heading out for the first jeep safari into Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. The cool morning hours are one of the best times to observe wildlife activity. As your open safari vehicle moves through dense forests and along watering holes, keep your eyes open for the elusive Bengal Tiger. Tadoba is also home to a rich variety of other wildlife including the Indian Leopard, Sloth Bear, Sambar Deer, and Chital. You may also encounter large herds of the impressive Indian Gaur, the largest wild cattle species in the world. After the safari, return to the lodge for breakfast and leisure time. Enjoy lunch and relax before heading out again in the afternoon. The evening safari explores another part of the reserve. As temperatures cool down, animals often emerge from the forest to drink at lakes and waterholes such as Tadoba Lake, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.
Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Another early start takes you back into the forest for your morning safari. Each drive into Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve reveals new sights and sounds of the jungle. Listen carefully for alarm calls from deer or langurs, which often signal the presence of predators nearby. Apart from tigers, you may spot the secretive Golden Jackal, the shy Wild Boar, or several bird species including the striking Indian Paradise Flycatcher and the watchful Crested Serpent Eagle. Return to the lodge for breakfast and spend the afternoon at leisure. Guests may relax at the resort, enjoy birdwatching, or simply soak in the wilderness atmosphere. In the afternoon, depart for your final safari drive into the forest. This last excursion provides one more opportunity to encounter the incredible wildlife of Tadoba and perhaps witness a memorable tiger sighting.
In the evening, return to the lodge for dinner. Many lodges arrange a bonfire gathering where guides share stories about tiger tracking and conservation efforts in the reserve. Overnight stay at the lodge.
On your final morning, enjoy a relaxed breakfast while appreciating the peaceful surroundings of the jungle. After breakfast, check out from the lodge and drive back to Nagpur for your onward journey, carrying unforgettable memories of thrilling safaris and the remarkable wildlife of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve
