Enjoy thrilling wildlife safaris, luxury jungle stays, and incredible tiger sightings in the iconic landscapes of Ranthambore National Park. 🐅🌿

Ranthambore Safari Itinerary

Located at the junction of the Aravalli and Vindhya hill ranges, Ranthambore National Park is one of India’s most celebrated wildlife reserves and a renowned destination for spotting the majestic Bengal Tiger. The park is famous not only for its thriving tiger population but also for its dramatic landscape of ancient ruins, rocky hills, lakes, and dense forests. This 3-night safari itinerary offers multiple jungle drives and ample opportunities to explore the wilderness of Ranthambore.

Day 1 – Arrival in Ranthambore

Your journey begins with arrival at the nearest railway station in Sawai Madhopur, which serves as the main gateway to Ranthambore National Park. The park is only about 20 minutes from the station. Upon arrival, transfer to your wildlife resort located near the park. After check-in, enjoy a relaxed lunch and take some time to settle into the peaceful jungle surroundings. In the late afternoon, you may explore the local town of Sawai Madhopur or visit the Ranthambore School of Art, known for its beautiful tiger-themed paintings. Back at the resort, attend a short wildlife briefing conducted by the resident naturalist, who will introduce you to the park’s ecology, wildlife species, and safari zones. Dinner will be served at the lodge followed by an overnight stay.

Day 2 – Morning and Evening Safaris

Your day begins early with tea or coffee before departing for your first safari inside Ranthambore National Park. As the sun rises over the forest, the landscape comes alive with the calls of birds and animals. The safari vehicle travels through different zones of the park, passing scenic lakes and ancient ruins. Ranthambore is particularly known for its relatively open terrain, which increases the chances of spotting wildlife. Besides the iconic Bengal Tiger, the park supports a wide range of animals including the elusive Indian Leopard, Sloth Bear, Sambar Deer, and the graceful Chital. The safari also offers views of the impressive Ranthambore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site perched high above the forest. After the morning safari, return to the resort for breakfast and relaxation. Spend the afternoon at leisure and enjoy lunch at the hotel. Later in the day, depart for your evening safari. Wildlife activity often increases as the temperature cools, and animals frequently gather around lakes such as Padam Talao and Rajbagh Talao.

Return to the resort after sunset for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 – Exploring the Wild Landscapes of Ranthambore

Another early morning safari takes you deeper into the forests of Ranthambore National Park. Each safari offers a different perspective of the park’s landscape, from dense forests to open grasslands and ancient ruins. Listen carefully for alarm calls from langurs and deer, which often indicate the presence of a predator nearby. Apart from tigers, you may encounter species such as the Golden Jackal, Wild Boar, and numerous bird species including the striking Indian Peafowl. After returning to the lodge for breakfast, the afternoon is free to relax by the pool, enjoy birdwatching, or take a short village walk around the area. In the afternoon, set out for your final safari into the national park. This last game drive gives you another opportunity to witness the incredible wildlife and perhaps capture a memorable sighting of the tiger in its natural habitat. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner. Many resorts arrange a bonfire gathering where guides share fascinating stories about the famous tigers of Ranthambore and the park’s conservation success.
